My Constellation

Do we have the power to formulate our own lives? Can our future have potential predestination? If all Fate is simply one among many, then is anyone living a legitimate existence? If our lives are, in fact, the sum-total of choices we've made, then we cannot control who we are. But with every new choice we're given, we are free to change who we will become.

As a stipulation of freedom, we are given the ability to make choices; choices involving courage, cowardice, duty, love, bliss and anguish. The impact of the choices we make define us as human beings. We hold the power to assemble the world we inhabit, since each of us creates his own world... We conjure paradises from our ambitions, and nightmares born of insecurity. But what if they are both illusion?

The exploration for truth is an individual human progression; a quest guided by our perception of an individual experience. But what happens to the truth when what we see and what we think we see are two exceedingly dissimilar things... Some say that the truth is merely what we persuade others to believe. If so, this truth is frequently and merely hidden by the bogus arguments of others...

In a world of unsurprising change, we rely on the unyielding comforts to bring constants in life for security -- that the sun will rise, that the earth will turn. But if we could no longer be certain of anything then what could we be sure of? For centuries philosophers and theologians have debated the logic behind the human soul. Perhaps the answer has eluded us because it is so simple. To be human is to choose.

Evolution is guided by the principle of survival of the fittest. For the human species, the impulse to compete is ingrained in the essence of our existence. However, the elusive structure of regulations is vague which adds some misconception of success. For the human race, life is a ceaseless competition for power, fame, and even love. But when that desire for conquest is reduced to winning at any cost, then our defeat is surely irrefutable.

Along with futures we dare not imagine, come choices we dare not make. Though Survival of the fittest is the cornerstone of evolution, perhaps, the meek shall inherit the earth after all.

Sometimes, to discover that which is mysterious, we must first be made to look; we rely upon others to enlighten us, but wisdom can never be taught so we must always establish the truth for ourselves..
